The former home of a Trotwood Bob Evans is now the city’s new dialysis center.

DaVita held a grand opening this week for its new 5680 Salem Bend Drive center.

The new center joins about 16 other DaVita locations in the Dayton region serving residents with chronic kidney failure.

The company, contracting with Gerard Associates Architects, filed a permit in September for a $1.1 million renovation of the building to turn the former restaurant property into a dialysis center.

DaVita, a publicly traded company based in Denver, is one of the largest providers of dialysis services in the U.S.
