Matt Eller, the franchise owner-operator for the new Kettering Chick-fil-A, referred questions about the construction timeline to the restaurant chain’s officials. Chick-fil-A spokeswoman Brenda Morrow told this news outlet that the restaurant is projected to open “sometime (in the) first quarter of 2017.”
The Chick-fil-A restaurant chain operates a half-dozen locations in the Dayton region, including a restaurant that opened last year in the Cornerstone of Centerville just south of Kettering and one on Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Washington Twp, which is undergoing a significant makeover.

Town & Country itself is wrapping up an extensive $7 million renovation project first announced in late 2014 that helped attract and accommodate new tenants, including a 23,000-square-foot anchor store T.J. Maxx set to open at the end of this month, and a 14,00-square-foot "junior anchor" Petco store.
The retail center’s only grocery store, Trader Joe’s, expanded its footprint by 25 percent to 12,500 square feet as part of the project.

The 250,676-square-foot Town & Country shopping center is located on East Stroop Road, between Far Hills Avenue and Shroyer Road, and Kettering officials consider it a downtown of sorts for the suburban city. Kettering previously undertook an extensive beautification project around the shopping center, installing new walkways, lighting and landscaping.
Gregg Gorsuch, Kettering’s economic development manager, has said a revitalized Town & Country is critical to the health of the retail market in Kettering.
