Miamisburg City Council voted 5-0 Tuesday night to accept the land along Miamisburg Springboro Road near the Austin Boulevard interchange of Interstate 75.
Vice Mayor Sarah Clark and Councilman Ryan Colvin were not at the meeting.
Miamisburg Development Director Chris Fine said he has had preliminary talks with the developer, but no plans have been submitted.
City officials have said Inverness Homes has expressed interest in building new houses on the land if the city annexed it.
EARLIER REPORT
A plan for Miamisburg to annex 41 acres in Miami Twp. on land targeted for new homes is set to be voted on by the city this week.
The proposal calls for Miamisburg to take over four parcels northeast of the Medlar/Miamisburg Springboro roads intersection as part of a tax-sharing deal with the township in a move approved by Montgomery County commissioners in December.
If approved Tuesday night, the measure by Miamisburg City Council will take effect immediately, city records show.

The annexation was proposed after Inverness Homes expressed interested in building more than 100 homes on the land provided it was annexed by Miamisburg, officials have said.
The land abuts Pipestone Golf Course and is northwest of the Interstate 75/Austin Boulevard interchange, near thousands of jobs and Austin Landing.

Three of the parcels on Miamisburg Springboro Road and the other have a Medlar Road address, according to the Montgomery County Auditor’s Office website. Two of the parcels total 38 acres, records show.
Miamisburg City Council is set to meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in council chambers of the Miamisburg Civic Center, 10 N. First St.
