A national retailer is close to signing a deal for the next Austin Landing site to be built.

The developer of the 142-acre mixed-use complex in Miami Twp. said he expects to be begin construction on a 12,550-square-foot building next to Field & Stream as soon as an agreement is signed.

But VisCap Development President Larry Dillin declined to name the tenant – referring to it as a “a certain national retailer” - even to curious township trustees before they approved plans for site.

Company officials said Thursday a deal had not yet been finalized with the tenant.

The building approved Tuesday night will include a 2,000-square-foot outdoor plaza for the shopping, residential and entertainment development home to about 2,500 jobs, Dillin said.
