New Information Released In Brutal Bellefontaine Murder

New information was released Tuesday in the brutal murder of a Bellefontaine woman over the weekend. Her accused killer is just 16 years old and investigators said Christopher Tindall's attack is so brutal they will try him as an adult.

Prosecutors said they are working with officials from the Montgomery County Coroner's Office to collect and analyze all of the forensic evidence. They said they expect more charges could be filed against Tindall once the reports are finalized.

Investigators said Tindall had been living in a group home for troubled youth just two doors away from Joan Green's home. Sometime Friday night, investigators said Tindall slipped out, breaking into a pizza parlor and Green's home.

They said he savagely beat the 72-year-old woman with a blunt stick and raped her. Green is from a large, loving family, many of whom were in court Tuesday as prosecutors laid out their plan to try Tindall as an adult on charges of murder, rape, breaking and entering and abuse of a corpse.

A court hearing is scheduled for later this week.
