Moraine’s next city manager said he has a three-year contract at annual salary of $145,000 for the job he expects to start in June in a return to the area.

Former Riverside City Manager Bryan Chodkowski said he will be leaving the town manager’s position in Enfield, Conn. to succeed David Hicks, who is retiring after more than four decades with Moraine, including the last 17 years as city manager.

“I’m just excited about the opportunity,” said Chodkowski, 42. “I’m looking forward to being back in the Miami Valley and doing what I can to continue to move Moraine forward.”

Moraine City Council voted Wednesday night to appoint the Englewood native. The city received 44 applicants from about a dozen states before narrowing the list to seven earlier this month.
