2 new retailers coming to Beavercreek Mall

Two new stores are opening at the Mall at Fairfield Commons

Apparel retailers Forever 21 and Rose Remington will soon open a location at the Mall at Fairfield Commons.

Forever 21 will move into the Factory One space near the entrance of the shopping center. Factory One will move near JCPenney, filling what used to be a storage closet.

Rose and Remington, another popular apparel retailer, will open across from Forever 21.

“We are very excited to welcome so many new additions to our center in the upcoming months,” said Leanne Rubosky, general manager at The Mall at Fairfield Commons. “Our focus remains to provide our shoppers with the best choices possible as the area’s go to place for fashion, dining and entertainment.”

But the mall didn’t escape closures near the end of January when stores typically decide whether to resign leases. Locker Room by Lids, Treasure Trove, Jos, Go Calendar and Trendzy all recently closed.

Champs Sports will move from its current location into Go Calendar’s location. Bath & Body Works will temporarily relocate to Treasure Trove while it remodels its store.

Roger’s Jewelers, Jeggings Park and Crazy 8 have closed.

Malls have struggled to keep up with changing consumer shopping habits in recent months. Consumers continue moving their spending online, and when they do shop brick-and-mortar stores, they expect experiences.

The Mall at Fairfield Commons has been successful in bringing experiences on some fronts. Round1 Entertainment will fill the lower floor of a vacant Sears later this year. The mall also introduced The Yard, a game center with ping pong, over-sized chess and air hockey.
