While the stadium will be used primarily for sporting events, it’s also regarded as a feature to the community, with the facility being available to residents during the day. The facility is also available for rental for other events.

The stadium had been closed for several weeks to allow for a press box to be installed and lane striping to be completed. Snow and rainy weather created delays for the district to complete the project in their initial time frame.

Hale said the press box and striping work was scheduled to begin March 30, with completion expected by the time students returned from spring break April 10.

A few days of snow during spring break and rainy days after students returned caused delays in the installation schedule, and caused some lacrosse games to be moved to different locations.

A track meet scheduled for Monday, April 24 was moved to Mack Hummon Stadium after striping scheduled for April 20 couldn’t be completed.

The stadium’s $78,000 press box was installed April 19.
