The Sidney Fire Department is mourning the death of one of their firefighters who died while off-duty Wednesday afternoon.

Lt. Anthony “Tony” McLain, 46, who is a leader of the prevention bureau, was found slumped over in his car at his house around lunch time, officials said.

He was rushed to Wilson Memorial in Sidney, where he was pronounced dead.

A procession was held as McLain’s body was being transported to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office for autopsy.

Firefighters lined the street in front of the fire house and saluted as the vehicle carrying McLain’s body drove by.

McLain had been with the department for 19 years.

Foul play is not suspected, officials said.

Funeral arrangements are pending at Adams Funeral Home, 1401 Fair Road, in Sidney.
