Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose has announced that, as early voting comes to an end, 3.4 million Ohioans have voted, crushing the previous record of less than 2 million early votes.

On social media, LaRose said that in total, 3,411,463 ballots have been cast ahead of time, with 1,339,764 of those ballots being case in person.

The secretary of state’s office said that there are 243,023 absentee ballots still outstanding.

Ohio’s early voting total this year is already 180% of the prior early voting record, and also totals 60% of all votes cast in the entire 2016 election.

Polls open beginning at 6:30 a.m. today, and close again at 7:30 p.m., although anyone waiting in line to vote at closing time will be allowed to vote.
