The state of Ohio helped Trotwood move forward when it gave the city a $750,000 grant to tear down the old Salem Mall.
An informational meeting was held by city leaders and was designed to share the latest developments and the steps needed to move forward with a proposed landmark project.
The city plans to work with a Chicago retail development firm to put in a town center type of design on the old site of the Salem Mall.
City leaders said the new development would contain government offices and retail shops. They also wanted the new project to be a gathering place for the citizens of Trotwood.
