Oscar winner to film movie in Lebanon

Film crews are expected to begin arriving in Lebanon on March 25 to begin filming “Carol,” a feature film based on a short story set in the 1950s in New York, according to a press release by the Lebanon Area Chamber of Commerce.

Actress Cate Blanchett is cast in the leading role. Crews will be filming at Berry Intermediate School in Lebanon, also used in other movies including “Harper Valley PTA,” starring Barbara Eden. The films will also be shot in an undisclosed alley in downtown Lebanon and at the Shaker Inn Motel, just south of downtown. The Shaker Inn will be used to portray the Josephine Inn in New York.

Blanchett is to be at Shaker Inn Motel on March 31. Film crews will also be be filming in Hyde Park, north of Cincinnati, and other locations in the area.
