He wondered who let the dogs out, but the pups were just being friendly, KSAZ reported.

"They wanted to give him some Valentine's love," the dogs’ owner, Tanya Otto, told the television station.

Around noon Thursday, Otto had her front door open to enjoy some fresh air. The dogs, Lambeau and Lexie, usually sit by the door.

When the driver came by to drop off flowers and chocolate-covered strawberries, the dogs bolted toward him, KSAZ reported.

The driver sprinted back toward the truck to take cover, the television station reported.

"Packages went flying, and the guy ran to the truck," Otto told KSAZ. "I felt terrible because I think he was terrified, I mean, looking at them."

Otto and her neighbor quickly gathered the active dogs and apologized to the driver, the television station reported.

"(I) came over and reassured him they just want to say ‘Hi,’ and then he came back out," Otto said.
