Owner of Cheeks Gentlemen's Club sentenced for tax crimes

DAYTON -- The owner of a West Carrollton gentlemen's club has been ordered to pay over $900,000 in restitution and serve five years probation for tax crimes.  Federal investigators charged Elbert Hale with filing false corporate income tax returns.  In addition to the financial penalties and probation he was also sentenced to 18 months on home confinement and 500 hours of community service to be completed within three years.

Hale's ex-wife and bookkeeper, Joyce Hale, was also convicted of federal charges in the investigation and will serve three years probation, two months of home confinement, a $1,000 fine and 100 hours of community service.
