“The 88th Security Forces Pass and Registration section is responsible for managing the installation access program in support of more than 70,000 base visitors yearly,” said Master Sgt. Bonnie Steinmetz. “And we issue Defense Biometric Identification Data System passes/credentials for personnel requiring base access for short-term visits, contractors who do not receive a CAC (common access card) and foreign national visitors. We conduct identity proofing, vetting, validate installation access requests and verify sponsorship authority.”

Pass and Registration coordinates installation access credentials for 340 different contracts with more than 5,000 employees for different projects throughout the installation.

Steinmetz said they work with the Veterans Affairs coordinator at Wright Patterson Medical Center to issue passes for VA patients who are receiving medical care on base.

Staff Sgt. Mathew May, Defense Biometric Identification Data System, NCO in charge, and Staff Sgt. Eric Duke, Restricted Area Badges and Entry Authority Lists, work with personnel who need to sponsor base access for more than 25 people for special events.

The installation entry list must be submitted four full duty days in advance and emailed to 88th Pass and Registration organization email at 88SFS.S3R.Pass-Registration@us.af.mil. All names and state/federal ID information on the EAL must match exactly what appears on the guest’s identification (driver’s license, state ID, passport, etc.).

Duke manages the Restricted Area/Controlled Area badge program. He issues audits, inventory badges and ensures appropriate forms are completed and maintained as required.

Pass and Registration employees coordinate with base housing residents to register their privately owned firearms for the Bricks and The Prairies at Wright Field.

Business hours are 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. except for holidays and family days.
