A power pole was broken and a house partially damaged on Monaco Road in Springfield on Friday afternoon when some power lines were caught on a Rumpke garbage.

The incident happened at the intersection of Bostic Street and Monaco Road about 1 p.m. The truck was going down the road, and the driver didn't notice that the wires had gotten stuck on the vehicle, police said. Residents attempted to flag down the driver to alert him, but he didn't notice and kept going.

A power pole was broken and the same pole damaged the siding and roof of a hole at 420 Monaco Road.

It’s unclear at this time how many residents are without power. But we will continue working on this story to bring you the latest information.
