A popular food and travel website called Thrillist published a ranking of the 50 states this week, naming Ohio as #48 and Michigan as #1.

The website includes several lists ranking the states regarding various aspects, like beer and food, but described this particular list as being "based on everything" in honor of 4th of July this weekend.

Florida was named as the country’s worst state, due to its “awful resume,” and Ohio was described as “the Florida of the North.” The writers also expressed disfavor for Lebron James, but failed to explain their ranking of the Buckeye state any further.

Michigan, on the other hand, was praised for its multitude of coastline, breweries, and unique Upper Peninsula.  The writers further explained their decision:  “Far too much of the Michigan narrative centers on Detroit and its many issues…Michigan’s strengths lie in the state as a whole.”

Ohio’s other neighboring states varied in rank, with Kentucky high at #3, Illinois at #27, Indiana at #28, and West Virginia at #35.
