A prominent Shops of Oakwood store will close, according to a Facebook post from the company.

The Dusty Miller Mercantile at 33 Park Ave. in Oakwood is shutting down. The company’s website also says the store is closing and entire purchases are 20 percent off. The boutique store sells decor, apparel, accessories and Ohio and local-themed items.

“After a lot of thought and consideration, I am closing the shop. It has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined,” a Facebook post from Monday night said.

Owner Rachel Jessup will look continue being involved with her non-profit organization and stay home with her three children, according to a Facebook post. She will also use the proceeds from the closing to buy a car for her employee Natalie.

Jessup told the Dayton Daily News she is unsure when she will close, depending on when all merchandise is liquidated. Her goal is to close before Easter.
