Restaurant spaces have been booming both in and around the Mall at Fairfield Commons, which has become the epicenter of restaurant activity in the last two-plus years.
Melt Bar & Grilled is poised to open a free-standing restaurant just outside the mall in early June.

Fusian opened next door to the new Melt restaurant earlier this spring.

Gyro King has opened in the mall’s food court. And BRAVO Cucina Italiano, BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse and Chuy’s Tex Mex all have opened on mall property, while Primanti Bros. and IHOP are among the restaurants that have built new restaurants along North Fairfield Road across from the mall.
Along Colonel Glenn Highway just west of the mall, the Wandering Griffin brewpub, Chipotle and Rapid Fired Pizza restaurants have opened.

The area also has seen some restaurant closings that have included Logan’s Roadhouse, Don Pablo’s Mexican Restaurant, Designer Dogs and Dolce Mio.
The Max & Erma’s restaurant in front of the Mall at Fairfield Commons closed earlier this year, but its corporate owners say they will then convert the space to a different restaurant concept, MacKenzie River Pizza Grill Pub, this fall.
