Officials plan a demolition kickoff at 10 a.m. at the 13-acre site and former home to Roberds the city bought last year with plans to tear it down as part of a $3.2 million redevelopment effort.

Green City Demolition is expected to demolish the site over five months. City officials said they do not anticipate a serious disruption in traffic around the Dixie Drive site.
The project will include clearing utilities, removing buildings, abating asbestos materials, closing wells and grading the former Roberds and BDI/Flack sites, according to the city.
Discussions with potential users have yet yield solid prospects, but city officials are confident in the marketability of the land, which is passed by about 100,000 vehicles daily, according to West Carrollton Economic Development Director Michael Lucking.
The city is looking for a use “that our citizens can benefit from, that brings people to the community in a positive way,” Lucking said. “We’re going to be deliberate about what we do with the site.”
