Deputies said the Sidney Police Department received a complaint that a 13-year-old female was allegedly involved in an inappropriate relationship with an adult.
Deputies said during one of the meetings it is alleged that a second 13-year-old female witnessed the unlawful activity and photographed the encounter. During that encounter, deputies said Dembski made a threatening statement and gesture to the girl.
With all the allegation involving an individual associated with the school, Sidney School officials were notified and Dembski was placed on leave immediately, deputies said.
Sidney school officials said Jerry Dembski, a study hall aide, has been accused of having inappropriate contact with a student off school grounds and after school hours.
Michelle Mullins, who is a middle school parent, said, "That's not something a child should have to go through."
Mullins said Dembski retired as the school's DARE officer and found it hard to believe that he would do anything to harm a child.
"If that's the case, then something really needs to be done," said Mullins.
Dembski was booked in the Shelby County Jail and later posted bond of $12,591. Deputies said Dembski's next court date will be Nov. 2, 2009.
