Springboro Schools expected to name new principals and athletic director

The Springboro Community City Schools board is expected to approve new high school and intermediat principals and a new athletic director.

Christine Daniel will be named Springboro High School principal, Kyle Martin will move from high school assistant principal to Springboro Intermediate principal and Matthew Louis will join the distric as athletic director.

Daniel has 23 years of education experience, according to a release from the district. She has been a special education and English teacher, and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines and as a teacher at an international school in Tokyo, Japan. She returned to Ohio to teach in Xenia from 2000 to 2010 and then worked as curriculum supervisor for Beavercreek schools. Most recently, Daniel has been the assistant principal/7-12 Curriculum Director for Greenon High School, the release said.

Jeff Blakley will move from assistant principal to principal at the junior high, replacing Andrea Cook. Cook is staying with the district to serve as Secondary (grades 7-12) Curriculum Specialist.

Martin will become the principal at Springboro Intermediate, which houses the district’s sixth grade.

The Board also is expected to approve Matthew Louis as Springboro High School athletic director, according to the release.
