Frank LaRose: Following his graduation from Copley High School, he enlisted in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne and eventually serving in the U.S. Special Forces as a Green Beret. During his decade in uniform Frank received numerous commendations and honors, including the Bronze Star.
HOUSE
John Adams: Following graduation in 1978 and several years working at Bethlehem Steel, he left to join the United States Navy. He earned the exceptional honor of being selected to serve in the Navy SEALs and was assigned to a SEAL team in California. He also served overseas and assisted in training tactical units in Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines.

Peter Beck: Beck served his country honorably during the Vietnam War era as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.
Heather Bishoff: In 1995, Heather went to basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina. She graduated at the top of her class, earning Distinguished Honor Graduate. In 1996 she was named Ohio Soldier of the Year and moved with her unit to the newly built United States Army Reserve Center in Whitehall, where she was honored with cutting the ribbon. She also earned the Army Commendation Medal and the US Army South Achievement Award for her service in the Panama Canal.
Jim Butler: Representative Butler received his bachelor's degree in history from the United States Naval Academy, where he graduated in the top 10 percent of his class. He also is a graduate of the University of Maryland and the University of Cincinnati, from which he earned his Master's degree and Juris Doctorate, respectively. Representative Butler served in the United States Navy as fighter pilot, flying the F-14 Tomcat.
Mike Dovilla: Mike is an officer in the Reserve Component of the U.S. Navy. A lieutenant commander with a decade of commissioned service, he served on active duty on a 12-month deployment in Iraq in 2007-2008. As Deputy Officer-in-Charge, he led a 25-person, Baghdad-based intelligence headquarters staff for Combined Joint Task Force Troy, the counter-improvised explosive device brigade in Iraq. Mike's past reserve assignments have been with the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) and Chief of Naval Operations. He currently serves with an Akron-based unit attached to United States Forces, Japan. A qualified Information Dominance Warfare Officer, his awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
Teresa Fedor: A long-time public servant, Representative Fedor served in the United States Air Force and Ohio Air National Guard for six and a half years.
Terry Johnson: He served 21 years in the Ohio Army National Guard where he was commander of the National Guard Medical Detachment, served as state surgeon, and retired as a Colonel in 2011. A veteran of the Global War on Terror, he has completed three tours of duty.
Rick Perales: Prior to being elected to the House, Perales served for 15 years in the United States Air Force commanding the 788th CES Squadron at Wright Patterson Air Force Base.
Connie Pillich: The Armed Forces veteran served eight years on active duty in the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of Captain. She served in support of Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Among the many military honors Rep. Pillich earned was an Officer of the Year award at Tempelhof Air Base in West Berlin, Germany. She is a three-time recipient of the Air Force Commendation Medal.
Louis Terhar: He earned a BS from the United States Naval Academy in 1972, an MBA in Finance from Syracuse University and Master of Liberal Arts from Harvard University.
Russ Wetherford: After graduating from Talawanda High School, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 2002. Following Recruit Training in Paris Island, South Carolina and Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry in Camp Geiger, North Carolina, he was stationed at Fort Bliss Army Air Defense Center in El Paso, Texas. Here he worked to provide support for the Marine Corp L.A.A.D. school and the Marines of the Joint Task Force, primarily training new Marines. He was given his discharge in 2004 after enduring injuries while training. As a disabled, retired veteran, Representative Retherford is involved with issues regarding those who have served in the military.
Sandra Williams: Rep. Williams also served our country as a member of the United States Army Reserve from 1987 to 1995.
Ron Young: Representative Young served in the United States Army for three years. Upon his honorable discharge, he attended Kent State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in Psychology.
