The power went out at a polling station in Jefferson Twp. but voting is continuing with the help of a backup generator.

The 7828 Dayton-Liberty Road fire station has a back up generator and Dayton Power & Light also brought a generator while it fixes the problem, according to Jan Kelly, director of the Montgomery County Board of Elections.

The voting machines also have batteries that can provide backup power if needed.

Separately, in Springboro a vehicle crash early this morning knocked out electricity for two polling stations, at Covenant Presbyterian on North Main Street and Clearcreek Chapel on Pennyroyal Road, though the voting machines also have battery backup power.
