Pike County child found safe

UPDATE @ 8:40 p.m.:

The 2-year-old boy from Pike County has been found safe.

Law enforcement indicated the child was found safe in Columbus.

INITIAL REPORT:

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office has issued an endangered child advisory for Christopher Barfield Jr., a 2 year old child.

He was taken by his non-custodial mother, Kandie Holsinger, according to a release. Holsinger removed him from his custodial aunt’s home some time during the night.

While the release was not an Amber Alert, the child is believed to be in danger due to his mother’s drug use.

Barfield is described as a white, male, with blonde hair and blue eyes, weighing 30 pounds.

Holsinger is described as a 32-year-old white female, with blonde hair, blue eyes, and weighs 190 pounds.

Barfield was last seen at 11 p.m. Friday night in the 300 block of Big Run Road in the city of Piketon.
