The challenge was sent to the court late yesterday by Corey Speweik, a lawyer from Perrysburg, Ohio and a candidate for a judge in Wood County’s Court of Common Pleas.
According to a post on Speweik’s Facebook page, today was one of the available early voting days for Wood County’s elections.
The challenge named the Wood County Board of Elections and Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose as defendants, and asked the court to reopen the polling places in Wood County.
The Secretary of State’s Office filed a response early this morning.
The Supreme Court’s response, supported by four of seven judges and with no written opinion, was “Writ denied.”
