The restaurant seated 50 and opened with nine employees. Lakin said five employees were affected by last week’s closure of the restaurant.
When she opened the shop 18 months ago, Lakin said she had been “trying to get a Subway into that area for five or six years. It’s the new up-and-coming spot.” Lakin had been a Subway franchisee for 16 years prior to opening the Sugarcreek Crossing location and sold her interest in two other Subway restaurants in Kettering and Centerville shortly before launching the Feedwire Road location.
Prior to her Subway restaurant management experience, she had a 16-year career with the Ponderosa Steakhouse chain.
