Texas police departments are touting the #BackTheBLUEbonnets challenge, KXAN reported.
Officers, usually in uniform, are posing with the Texas state flower, often with a message. The messages range from anti-littering, safety while taking bluebonnet photos or exercise and meditation.
The social media challenge, posted mostly on Twitter, depicts law enforcement officers in fields of bluebonnets, sometimes accompanied by a message, WOAI reported.
Some officers got creative. An officer with the Farmers Branch Police Department improvised by posing with cartons of Bluebonnet butter, KXAN reported.
Oh hey NBD, but for the hundreds of thousands of fair citizens tagging us and emailing us, we already mastered this challenge last year.
