Skyline Chili is quietly testing an andouille coney at one Dayton-area restaurant.

“Kick it up a notch with our new Andouille Sausage Coney,” reads a sign touting the limited-time offer at the Skyline restaurant at 2724 Wilmington Pike in Kettering. “Savory spices in the sausage give it a bold Southern accent.”

We reached out to a spokesman for Skyline, who was a bit reluctant to go into specific detail about the offer and what Skyline’s plans might be for its andouille sausage. That’s not unusual for restaurant chains doing product tests in a highly competitive fast-food market.

“We’re testing that product as part of ongoing testing for future limited-time offers,” the spokesman said. “We do this constantly.”

The andouille coney is being tested in only four stores chain-wide for the Cincinnati-based restaurant company, and the Kettering location is the only Dayton-area test site, the spokesman said. There is no timeline for a decision on whether the andouille offer was a success and might return, he said.
