On May 12, an active shooter situation had been reported in Kirkersville, Ohio.

This morning reports came in of an active situation in the 200 block of East Main Street in the village of Kirkersville. It was reported an officer is in “very critical” condition after what officials are calling and ambush, according to 10TV in Columbus.

Here are three things to know about Kirkersville:

1. The Village of Kirkersville is located nearly 30 minutes east of Columbus in Licking County just off U.S. Route 40.

2. The population in the village was 525 at the 2010 census. The median household income is $53,750 and median age is 40.7, according to Datausa.io.
