Golf courses around the Miami Valley are preparing for a surge in traffic as the weather warms.

There’s a particular anticipation at Bellbrook’s Sugar Valley Country Club, where a new clubhouse is nearing completion.

Here are three things to know about the club:

Fire strikes twice

Three years after two separate fires destroyed key parts, the private country club is almost ready to open a new clubhouse that will add several key amenities for members and visitors.

New clubhouse almost complete

The new 15,000-square-foot member clubhouse is nearing completion with most of the exterior reflecting a common design and style with other buildings on the course. A large back deck is still under construction. The interior of the clubhouse will include two golf simulators, a member fitness center, a 200-seat banquet hall, bar and grill and casual dining area, according to membership manager Wes Vanover.

New water service

The club had been utilizing well water until the fires hit, and it recently installed a 9,000-foot water line from Greene County’s system to the clubhouse for service use and the fire suppression system.
