“Based on employee survey feedback and the current circumstances across CareSource markets, we have extended our primarily work from home status for employees through the end of the year,” the company said in a statement.
Though a handful of essential workers continue to work from the office, most employees have transitioned to working from home seamlessly, according to the company.
CareSource employees do have the flexibility to work from office locations needed, the company said.
“We have the proper procedures in place to ensure a safe work environment. Our facilities are following all safety regulations that continue to exist such as capacity limitations, social distancing and face mask requirements," read the company’s statement.
The state’s largest Medicaid managed care plan company had earlier extended work from home through this month. About 1.3 million Ohioans have their Medicaid plan through CareSource.
CareSource and other large employers throughout the Miami Valley have turned to telework to keep operations running through the pandemic.
It was estimated in August that only about 20% of workers at the region’s largest employer were physically working at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. The workforce there consists of about 30,000 military and civilian employees.
