After the Miami Valley saw thunderstorms with high wind and reports of possible hail, thousands were without power.

A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for parts of Champaign, Clark, Greene, Miami and Montgomery counties this afternoon.

While DP&L has not confirmed that the outages are related to the weather, National Weather Service spotters reported trees down in Miami, Montgomery and Warren Counties and high winds up to 57 mph were reported in Greene and Montgomery Counties.

Thunderstorms roll through area, tornado possible on hottest day of the year

After outages fell to around a thousand across the area, new outages increased outage numbers across the region to over 3,000. Now, they have fallen again.

As of 1:30 a.m., the DP&L outage map showed the following outages across the area:

  • Miami County: 5
  • Montgomery County: 221
