PHOTOS: Looking back at the Blizzard of 1978 in Dayton

January of 1978 was one of the most devastating weather months in Dayton history, with more than 40 inches of snow. With more than 20 inches of snow already on the ground, 12.2 inches of snow fell at Dayton International Airport on Jan. 26. Wind gusts reached 60 mph as the storm barreled through. This created massive snow drifts measured in several feet, coupled with blinding white-outs. Here, you see Larriwood Avenue off Ackerman Bouleveard in Kettering on Jan. 16, 10 days before the blizzard.
