President Trump coming to Ohio Friday

President Donald Trump will make his second political trip to Ohio in less than a month when he headlines the Ohio Republican Party’s state dinner in Columbus on Friday, Aug. 24.

Ohio GOP Chairwoman Jane Murphy Timken announced that the president will speak at the party fundraiser where tickets start at $250 per person.

Trump held a rally in Delaware County on Aug. 4 for Republican Congressional candidate Troy Balderson of Zanesville.

In the 2016 election, Trump won Ohio by 8.5-percentage points and shortly after his victory, Trump engineered the ouster of then Ohio GOP chairman Matt Borges, a supporter of Gov. John Kasich.

“I didn’t have the head of the Republican Party on my side,” Trump said at the Aug. 4 rally. “After I won the presidency, I said let’s challenge this guy. Why should we allow that to happen.”

In Cincinnati on Tuesday, Vice President Mike Pence touted the administration's tax cuts and hold a fundraiser for Republican gubernatorial candidate Mike DeWine. Pence also held a rally for Balderson on July 30.

The dinner and program for the GOP dinner start at 6.
