He said he chose Food Bazaar for the name to reference the fresh markets called bazaars that are common in Eastern culture. Pending application approval for the project, Aliyev’s 2,400 square-foot grocery store will open this fall.
Originally purchasing the building to use as a warehouse for his transportation company, Aliyev said he decided to open a grocery store instead.
“Early this year my business started going slow, and I changed my mind and switched to the idea of opening a grocery store instead,” Aliyev said. “Because there’s not too many grocery stores around that area, I thought it would be a great idea to have a grocery store around there.”
Huber Heights assistant city manager Scott Falkowski said the store is a good fit for the southern end of Huber Heights because most of the larger grocery stores aren’t in that area.
“It’s a neighborhood store that I think will do well in the area,” Falkowski said.

Aliyev is originally from Turkey, but he lived in Baltimore for several years where he managed a grocery store and started his trucking business. He moved to Tipp City in March 2017, bringing his business Prime Express with him.
“My main goal is to make this grocery store strong enough to get away from that business,” Aliyev said.
He’s hired a manager to run Prime Express while he gets the grocery store up and running, but he hopes to solely operate the grocery store some day.
