After a two-year hiatus that saw the event travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and West Des Moines, Iowa, a longstanding partnership between Travel Butler County and USA Triathlon will bring the event back to Butler County this year. The competition was last held in Butler County in 2022.
Competitors ranging from beginners to elite will compete in triathlon, an Olympic sport that combines swimming, biking, and running events.
“USA Triathlon is excited for Youth and Junior Nationals to return to West Chester, Ohio for another fun-filled and inspiring weekend of racing,” said Victoria Brumfield, USA Triathlon CEO. “West Chester, Travel Butler County and Voice of America MetroPark have been excellent hosts for our youth and junior triathletes who travel from across the country to race in a fun and safe event. Each year, this event provides the opportunity for the nation’s fastest young triathletes to go head-to-head, while at the same time offering an exciting race experience to kids who are new to the sport.”
USA Triathlon is the national governing body for the triathlon, as well as duathlon, aquathlon, aquabike, winter triathlon, off-road triathlon, paratriathlon and indoor and virtual multisport events in the United States.
In addition to its work at the grassroots level with athletes, coaches, and race directors — as well as the USA Triathlon Foundation — USA Triathlon provides leadership and support to elite athletes competing at international events, including World Triathlon World Championships, Pan American Games and the Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Hosting this event is likely to have an economic impact of $2.1 million to local businesses in West Chester Twp. and the surrounding region.
