Today will be mostly sunny and warm, with a high near 73 degrees and some light afternoon wind, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

Conditions overnight will also be mostly clear, though wind will pick up somewhat. Low temperatures will be around 55 degrees.

After a mostly sunny start, there will be a chance of showers on Thursday beginning around noon. Showers will become likely in the late afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through the area, followed by rain chances slowly trailing off throughout the night.

The cold front will also bring colder air, with a high of around 65 degrees and a low of around 41 degrees on Thursday.

Temperatures will be even colder on Friday, with highs only reaching 57 degrees despite mostly-sunny skies.

For Friday night, the NWS has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook, saying that low temperatures are expected to drop into the low to mid-30s, leading to widespread frost and a potential overnight freeze.
