Kil-Kare Raceway started in 1951 with a 1/5 mile dirt track built by brothers, Marshall and Gale, from Alpha. The track is in Xenia Twp. along Dayton-Xenia Rd., about three miles from downtown Xenia.

The dust clouds created by the dirt track convinced the brothers to pave the speedway, which they did in 1952, starting the first official season of racing at Kill-Kare.

The track was rebuilt into a 3/8 mile configuration in 1955.

Kil-Kare Dragway, a quarter-mile strip, was added in 1959. The dragway was rebuilt with concrete in 2013, making it a very popular venue for drag racing in the region.
