Baby Archie was wrapped in a cream-colored blanket and wearing a white-knitted cap as he was presented by his parents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, during a three-minute session Wednesday afternoon.

The newest addition to the royal family, however, was indifferent to the attention being lavished upon him as he slept in Harry's arms, The New York Times reported.

The duchess gave birth to the couple’s first child at 5:26 a.m. Monday. Archie weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

Harry, when asked whom the baby takes after, said "We're still trying to figure that out," the Times reported.

"He has the sweetest temperament, he's really calm. He's been the dream," Markle told reporters.

"I don't know who he gets that from," Harry said as the couple laughed, the BBC reported.

Queen Elizabeth II visited her newest great-grandchild Wednesday, ITV reported. It is the eighth great-grandchild of the Queen and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh.

The infant’s name created eager speculation, with bookmakers weighing in and getting plenty of action from bettors.

According to Ladbrokes, the leading candidate for the child's name had been James, followed by Spencer and Alexander. Arthur and Oliver rounded out the top five.

None of them made the grade.

The origins of the infant’s name have some connection to the royal family, although his first two names formally do not.

Archie is a derivative of Archibald and means "genuine and bold," according to the Babble website. It also can be a short version of Arthur, according to The Name Meaning website.

Arthur is one of the names of Archie’s grandfather, Prince Charles.

According to the Babycenter website, Harrison's meaning is "son of Harry."

Both Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip can claim Mountbatten on their family trees. The 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma was Louis Mountbatten. He was a second cousin, once removed to the queen and an uncle to Prince Philip, according to Ancestry.com.

Mountbatten was assassinated Aug. 27, 1979, by Irish Republican Army terrorists who planted a bomb in his boat.

And Windsor, of course, is the surname of the British royal family.

It is likely that Archie will use "Sussex" as his surname, according to Good Housekeeping. That is similar to how is cousin, Prince George, is known. The son of Prince William is known as George Cambridge at school, according to Good Housekeeping.

Harry’s full name is Henry Charles Albert David. His brother, Prince William, is named William Arthur Philip Louis.

Andrew Morton, in his book "Diana: Her True Story," said Harry's name was decided by his mother, Princess Diana, People reported.

“The alternative was Arthur and Albert,” the magazine reported. “No, thank you.”
