Familiar news anchor and reporter Letitia Perry has been named to co-anchor News Center 7's Daybreak Edition.  Perry will be joining John Paul, Rich Wirdzek and Gabrielle Enright in the WHIO-TV studios beginning Monday, September 3rd.

Perry, a Dayton native, is joining the team to continue to build on this summer's recent ratings surge for WHIO-TV's morning news.  Perry has been co-anchor of News Center 7 at 11pm for the past six years, and is in her 12th year with WHIO-TV.

“Letitia will be a wonderful addition to the News Center 7 Daybreak crew,” says David Bennallack, Senior News & Programming Leader at WHIO-TV.  “We’re very fortunate to have someone with Letitia’s journalistic experience, local knowledge, and positive and engaging personality.”

“This is an exciting new chapter in my broadcast career,” said Perry.  “I look forward to working with John, Gabrielle and Rich in helping our viewers get their day started with the latest news and information.  I grew up watching Channel 7 and to this day I’m still thrilled, excited and proud to be a member of the News Center 7 team.”

A Dayton native, Perry graduated from Meadowdale High School.  After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree from Central Michigan University, she worked in radio newsrooms for ten years in Columbus and in Dayton before joining WHIO-TV in 2001.  Perry emcees events for dozens of local charitable organizations and churches, and can often be seen talking about the business of journalism with students at career days.  She retains the memory of how television news influenced her early years.

“Letitia is a trusted anchor who was born and raised here and knows the stories that are important to our community,” said Bennallack.  “I’m confident that our morning viewers will not only appreciate the energy that she brings to each newscast, but her passion for keeping our community informed.”
