Whitewater Warehouse announces expansion

Whitewater Warehouse — a cornerstone of the Dayton-area paddlesports community for more than two decades — is expanding its operations by constructing a new warehouse next to its existing store on Valley Street.

The new building will be used as a storage facility for the company’s growing selection of rental and retail kayaks and paddleboards.

“We’ve been growing our business ever since starting out at the Front Street Building in ‘94,” owner Jeryl Yantis said in a release. “The Valley Street location has been great because it’s right on the Mad River and this new building will help us better utilize that space and better serve our customers.”

With the nearing completion of construction on the Downtown River Run project, the expansion will offer a widened selection for both the experienced and new paddling community.

“We’re really excited about the River Run project,” Yantis said. “There are already a number of great stretches of river and lakes within a short drive, but the River Run will get a whole new group of people out on the water.”

In addition to retail, Whitewater Warehouse also hosts demos, instructional courses and group outings for everyone from beginners to expert paddlers.

Whitewater Warehouse, 104 Valley Street, is open from 4-9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday.
