Who was the Dayton man killed by police Wednesday?

Kesharn K. Burney, 25, of Dayton has been identified as the man who died Wednesday after police fired on him in Harrison Twp.

The man who died after being shot multiple times by an undercover sheriff’s deputy and a police officer in Harrison Twp. is Kesharn K. Burney of Dayton, according to the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office.

Burney, 25, was fired on after allegedly ramming a Trotwood officer with a vehicle as the officer and the deputy took part in a law enforcement “blitz” to catch suspected drug dealers.

According to court documents, Burney was sentenced in 2011 to six months in prison for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of cocaine. In April of 2015 he was sentenced to nine months in prison on three counts of trafficking heroin and was placed on parole three years upon his release.
