“This year Prime members will experience a special flavor of Prime Day in every Whole Foods Market store nationwide,” said Cem Sibay, vice president of Amazon Prime.
One of the biggest deals will be a $10 Amazon account credit to spend on Prime Day when a customer spends $10 at a Whole Foods store through July 17. Amazon Prime Rewards Visa card members will also get 10 percent back on up to $400 in purchases from July 14-17, double the usual rewards.
Prime members who haven’t tried grocery delivery through Prime Now, a free two-hour grocery delivery available in select cities like Cincinnati and Columbus, will receive $10 off their first delivery and a $10 credit toward their next delivery.
Amazon will also offer deals on the company’s electronics, such as Echo and Fire TV, in many Whole Foods Markets. Several grocery items will be discounted as well.
The in-store Prime Day deals are part of Amazon’s recent steps to move into traditional retail. The online giant officially acquired Whole Foods Market in August 2017 in a $13.7 billion deal, shaking up the grocery industry.
Whole Foods has a location in Washington Twp., two in the Cincinnati area and two in the Columbus area.
