WinWholesale adopts new name

Moraine-based WinWholesale Inc. has changed its name to Winsupply Inc., effective immediately, company officials announced Wednesday.

The new name connects the more than 570 Win local companies to a “single, cohesive powerful brand that creates national presence and position, not only in wholesale distribution but in all of the industries we serve,” said Rick Schwartz, company chairman, in a statement.

Winsupply is the majority owner of all its local companies in a shared ownership business model.

Schwartz said the name change will help the company drive better business results.

Winsupply is a distributor of residential and commercial construction and industrial supplies and materials. The privately held company had $2.5 billion in sales in 2014. Winsupply has more than 570 locations in 45 states, with 5,200 employees nationwide, including more than 300 in Dayton.

Currently, most local companies operate under Win-branded names including Winsupply, Winnelson, Winair, Windustrial, Winlectric, Winfastener and Winpump, along with Noland Co.
