» WOW air offering $69 flights to Iceland from Cincinnati this summer
To celebrate WOW’s inaugural flight, an evening of food, music and giveaways are planned to start at 11:15 p.m. — 35 minutes before the first plane arrives — on Concourse B at CVG, according to WOW.
WOW will keep the celebration for its new flights going Thursday with a 1:30 p.m. community event scheduled for the Music Hall foyer on Elm Street in Cincinnati. At the event, the airport CEO and a WOW air representative will speak about what the new international service means for the region.
WOW air is offering $69 one-way fares from Cincinnati and 12 other cities to Iceland during the summer and the fall.

The airline first introduced $69 one-way fares in 2017 and they are on sale for flights scheduled for June 20, Sept. 1 and Oct. 27.
Launched in November 2011, WOW air now connects 39 destinations across the U.S. and Europe with the Icelandic capital. WOW air transported 2.8 million passengers in 2017, an increase of 69 percent on the previous year.
Due to strong interest, WOW announced in March that it would increase its service frequency for CVG from four days a week to five days a week throughout the summer travel season of June 4 to Sept. 17.
