The Xenia Rural King reopened Monday afternoon after part of the building’s facade collapsed Sunday.

Investigators with the Xenia Fire Division and the Greene County Building Regulations Department went to the store Monday to examine the building.

No structural damage was reported, said Xenia Fire Inspector Mike Blakesly.

The store had damage to the underside of the facade. Rural King had a construction crew remove the rest of the underside and was putting up plywood to temporarily secure the area, Blakesly said.

“The front of the store has been barricaded to protect from the public getting to that area,” he said. “However, the side doors at the front entrance have been cleared for entrance and exit for store customers.”
