Racial diversity has become a key focus on the campuses of area universities.

But, racial diversity has not changed much since 1980, an analysis of data from the National Center for Education Statistics shows.

In most cases, the percent of black, hispanic, asian and Native American students has only increased marginally at Dayton-area universities.

At the University of Dayton and the University of Cincinnati, black students actually made up a smaller percent of the total student body in 2016 than they did in 1980.
