Mary Claire
Mary Claire Ackley (Chidester) was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She left this world on January 31, 2021, at age 90.
She was born to LaClair and Florence "Jean" Chidester on May 24, 1930. She married her husband, Charles Ackley, in 1949. Together, they had 3 children: Laura, David, and
Carolyn.
Together, Charles and Mary owned and operated Kettering Animal Hospital from 1969 to 1991. After their years of dedicated service to the veterinary community, they retired to travel the world. Mary loved cooking and baking, wintering in Florida, tending her roses, and her family.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, three children, nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 12 pm on February 9, 2021, at the Lebanon United Methodist Church at 122 East
Silver Street, Lebanon, Ohio 45036. A celebration will be
planned at a later time this spring.
