Adams, Ethel
In loving memory of educator, Ethel A
Born raised and educated in Texas, Ethel married R.A. Adams, a barber and musician, in 1943. They moved to Dayton, Ohio a few years later. To that marriage one daughter was born, Zelda A. Adams Foster. While raising Zelda, Ethel taught at a daycare facility in Dayton. After obtaining a degree in elementary education, Ethel taught at Emerson Elementary School for the next 30 years. She enjoyed playing bridge and participating in activities with her sorority, College Women. After R.A.'s passing she downsized to an apartment in a senior citizens facility for a number of years.
But as her health declined, she made the decision to move to Maryland to reside with Zelda. And so, on March 25, 2021, she arrived at the last stop on her journey. For three years life was good, but a fall in October of this year caused problems that placed her in a care facility. Even though she eventually returned home, she did not fully recover. And so, on Monday, December 30 she passed quietly into the arms of God at the age of 104.
Lovingly submitted
